Centreville started the game by receiving the kick with a short 3-and-punt drive. The ball did not last long in Ram hands as they threw into the firm grip of Wildcat Donnell Carpenter. The second Wildcat offensive drive ended in a failed field goal attempt. The Rams then took the ball and extinguished most of the remaining time on the clock as they scored a touchdown and extra point with just 2:21 left in the first quarter. The teams exchanged possession with a series of 3-and-punt drives after which Centreville fumbled the ball into Robinson's hands. That's where the first quarter ended with the Rams 7 and Wildcats zero.
After a zippy first quarter, the second quarter would begin like it was a different game. The Rams were taking their time working down the field when the Wildcat's defense pounced on a fumble to regain control of the ball. On the next snap P.J. Dunegan propelled himself on foot for 65 yards and a quick Centreville first down. Just a few snaps later Dunegan maintained a tight grip on the ball as he bulleted into the end zone for a Wildcat touchdown. The kick for the extra point was blocked and the score clicked-up to Robinson 7, Centreville 6 with 8:47 still to play in the second quarter of the game. That remaining time felt a bit like the first quarter, again, as each team exchanged possessions with a consistent rhythm of punts. As fans devoured some half time hot chocolate to fight the evening chill, the half time score was Robinson 7 and Centreville 6.
Red-Faced in the Red Zone
The second half began with Robinson receiving the kick. They quickly moved into the red zone, where the Wildcat defense muscled them into frustration. The Rams were oh-so-close to the goal line, but could not muster the strength to get the ball into the end zone.
Centreville takes possession on downs without any luck. Rams again maneuver the ball into the red zone where the Wildcat defense is holding strong. Suddenly the Robinson defense tries something different and runs the ball around the right-side for a touchdown. The extra point makes the score Robinson 14, Centreville 6 with 3:46 left in the third quarter.
Fleet of Feet
Wildcats take possession of the ball and the fleet-of-feet crew goes to work. Brandon Williams grabs the kick for a 22 yard return. A few plays later Brandon Davis explodes through the Ram defense and down the field for a 60 yard touchdown run. P.J. Dunegan crosses the goal line on foot for a two-point conversion and the score is now tied at 14 with 2:15 still to play in the third quarter. That's where the score was when time ran out, as the teams switched sides of the field to enter into the dark part of the game — the fourth quarter.
Strange Happenings
The fourth quarter saw the beginning of strange happenings. Some we've seen before, and some just left you scratching your head and wondering who let the black cat cross their path on this Friday the 13th. With the ball in Robinson's possession, the Centreville defense is attracting the attention of the game officials and their little yellow flags. Penalties work to the Ram's advantage and they propel the ball on-foot into the end zone for another Robinson touchdown. The extra point is good, the score is now Robinson 21, Centreville 14 with another 10:06 to play in the game.

Sprinklers: Very strange.
A Good Run of Bad Luck
With 7:46 still to play in the game the only luck left for the Wildcats is bad. Centreville gets through just two plays before throwing the ball into an interception and Robinson defensive touchdown. Another extra point and the score climbs to Robinson 35, Centreville 14. That took less than 60-seconds of game time — still have 7:03 to go! Can Wildcat luck get better? Nope. The next Wildcat drive ends in an interception. Time seems to begin moving very slowly, perhaps from the cold, and another strange happening is revealed. Fireworks begin to zoom and pop into the sky behind the scoreboard. Seems kind of early for Robinson to celebrate with a show like this, but it's apparent their offense is simply running out time on the clock. The Ram's flirt with some progress down the field but allow time to expire. The game ends with the third Wildcat defeat in a row and a final score of 35 to 14.
